After a quick wake up call at the beginning of the soccer game on an Airport goal (0-1). The Big Reds were sluggish for the first 10 minutes of the game. But after point, they woke up and fired upon Airport tying the game at the 30 minute mark. For the next 30 minutes they showed great teamwork and ball control and out possessed Airport moving into halftime up 6-1. I German exchange student Livius provided a breath of fresh air for the Big Reds, bringing a noticeable spark from the moment he stepped onto the field. But this was far from a one-man effort, as contributions came from all over the pitch in a complete team performance. The Big Reds controlled the action with strong play on both ends, moving the ball well, creating opportunities, and keeping the Airport Jets under constant pressure. Different players stepped up throughout the match as the offense kept finding the back of the net and the defense gave Airport little room to respond. In the end, the Big Reds’ depth and relentless pressure proved too much, as they pulled away and ultimately mercy-ruled the Jets in an impressive all-around victory.
