We hosted the Rams of Flat Rock and came away with a 102-78 win. We won 10 of the 12 events on the night. Kaylin Brown and Haley Lancaster went 1-2 in Diving. The Medley of Afton Presley, Tori Kimberly, Avery Hovatter and Ashtyn Bersgtrom won the Medley and the B relay of Sofia Pardo, Jemma Kovach, Emma Brown and Kaylin Brown swam very well. Kenleigh Vandergrift had a lifetime best 200 free to take 2nd, and Cristina Wilson swam very well and finished 4th. The 200 IM saw a great swim by Emma Brown to finish 6th, while Gill and Kovach finished 1,2 for the Big Reds. Tori Kimberly dominated the 50 Free, with Hovatter in 2nd, Bergstrom in 4th. Pardo had a season best 50, as Anissa Mustafa also swam well and Kendal Perazzola had a lifetime best swim! The 100 Fly was a great race, as Gill took the win and made the state cut. Presley finished in 3rd. The 100 Free saw great swims as Bergstrom finished in 2nd and Vandergift in 3rd. The 500 was a win for Milan, as Hovatter cruised to the win. Wilson had a season best and drops time with each race. The 200 Free Relay was won by Kimberly, Bergstrom, Vandergrift and Gill. The B relay of Kovach, Pardo, Wilson and Emma Brown took 4th. Afton Presley had a lifetime best 100 back in State Cut time to win, with Pardo in 5th and Emma Brown 6th. Pardo and Brown did exceptional after both coming right out of the previous event to swim back to back events for us. Kimberly had a season best 100 Breast to win, and Kovach battled the Flat Rock best swimmer to take 2nd. The meet ended with a Big Red win as Hovatter, Gill, Presley and Vandergrift took the 400 Free Relay in our best time all season. The win moves us to 2-0 in the Huron League and 6-5 and 1 overall. We will have fierce competition the rest of the season as we host the Monroe County Meet on Saturday, and then will finish our dual meet schedule with home meets against Riverview and Grosse Ile in the next few weeks.
