Milan Boys Varsity Bowling Team had a good showing at Regionals, placing 5th in Teams

Adrian, MI - Milan Boys Varsity headed to Lenawee Recreation to compete on Thursday, February 19th, for the Regionals Team event and on Friday, February 20th, for the Regional Singles event, aiming to qualify for D3 States. In the team event, Milan vied for the top two spots in the eight Baker-two singles format, against eleven Division 3 teams in Region 24. They found themselves in fifth place once the dust settled. They started with six Baker games, rolling a 134, 125, 125, 158, 116, 168, 146, and 161 to land in sixth place. In moving on to the first set of singles games, they fought hard with games from Brady Crawford (196), Drew Biederman (169), and Sam Jenness (140), along with two split games of 155 and 132 to move into 5th place. The team then strung together another series with games from Mason Roberts (179), Brady Crawford (173), and Sam Jenness (134), plus another two split games of 157 and 109. Unfortunately, the team was unable to gain ground, and the Big Reds ended the day in 5th place. The Boys Varsity Bowling team members that represented Milan at Regionals were Anson Chidester (Captain, Sr.), Ben Avery (Sr.), Drew Biederman (Co-Captain, Jr.), Brady Crawford (So.), Mason Roberts (Fr.), Carter Reynolds (Fr.), and Sam Jenness (Fr.). In the singles event, Milan Boys Varsity sent six members to position themselves to qualify for D3 States on Friday, February 20th. In a field of 64 bowlers within Region 24, they each fought to claim one of the top seven spots in the six-game format to punch their ticket. Our closest Big Red was Brady Craford, just 39 pins outside of the cut. The final results for Milan were: Brady Crawford (So.), 12th; 202 high game, 1001 series Ben Avery (Sr.), 21st, 182 high game, 902 series Mason Roberts (Fr.), 24th, 182 high game, 883 series Anson Chidester (Sr.), 26th, 183 high game, 876 series Drew Biederman (Jr.), 28th, 168 high game, 871 series Carter Reynolds (Fr.), 33rd, 199 high game, 859 series In their regular season, the Milan Boys Varsity Bowling Team came in 4th place in the Huron League with a record of 6-6. Their highest Baker game was a 226, and their highest series was an 861 in league play. Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Bowling team on their season!
